Woo-hoo! I have an exciting excerpt with butting-heads romance and a character interview with our leading lady, Jev.
I wish I had enough time to review this book for the tour, but I will be reading the series soon. It sounds so good. Check it out, ya'll!
About the Book
Title: Scrying for Summer
Author: Katherine McIntyre
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Jev was looking for an adventure, however she wanted the usual variety of stomping out nasty fae in the city as an enforcer of the Philly Coven. Instead, handsome as sin Liam O'Reilly shows up on her doorstep dropping news of the worst organization of fae they'd dealt with on the rise again. Except, he's a traitor, an asshole, and the absolute last person she wants to work with.
However, the longer they work together, the more the fire between them burns, turning from rage and irritation into something primal. And as she gets to know the real Liam O'Reilly behind the charming smiles and sexy lines, he becomes so much deadlier. Because the protective, self-sacrificing man underneath his facade is just the sort she could fall for.
About the Author:
Character Interview with Jev Brennan from Scrying for Summer, book two of the Philadelphia Coven Chronicles
What’s it like working for one of the biggest covens in the regional area? Philadelphia Coven has quite a reputation.
Jev: Do we now? Is it for being trouble magnets? As one of the biggest, it also means we’ve got more nasties coming out way trying to take us down a couple of pegs. It’s constant work and constant fighting, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love it. There’s never a dull moment in Philly, even if that means I’ve got to wash wight guts out of my tank tops on a regular basis.
As an enforcer, you probably see a lot of different monsters crawling around at night. Do you have a least favorite type to encounter?
Yes. I hate pixies with the intensity of the desert sun. They can all die in a wildfire. I’ve worked with them when needed, and yes, they’re not all bad—one of the more neutral brands of fae out there, however the annoyance levels at being attacked at a swarm of those things rise a mile high. They’re always in teams, and sting and shriek at you like there’s no tomorrow. And once their miniscule brains seize onto a threat, they refuse to drop it.
Coffee or tea?
While I have the fixings for tea, since any good witch has a cabinet of herbs, I tend to drink infrequently. Coffee on the other hand, I would stab someone for.
Who’s your best friend?
I’m lucky enough to have quite a few. Unfortunately, one of mine passed—Sela was kidnapped and murdered by the Order of the Serpent, which to this day sticks with me. However, out of that whole ordeal I gained Conor and Brenna, who are wonderful, strong, good people. And I mean, I guess Liam’s a best friend, since he’s pretty fantastic despite being a constant thorn in my side. And Cami of course has been my bestie from the early Coven days. The woman’s the calm to my chaos.
Do you have a favorite place in Philadelphia?
Hell yes! I have a thousand favorite places in Philly! This is my city, after all. One of my favorite hangouts growing up used to be the main stretch of South Street. Back in the heyday, it had a bustling alternative scene—tons of witch shops, funky bars, and geeky places. While the landscape’s changed a little bit over the years, there are still some gems worth visiting there.
